My cell phone has the security option of using my fingerprint. I like using this since it is more secure than a passcode or pattern. But it is often problematic. I assumed it was due to my dry skin or perhaps the print reader Samsung uses is inferior. However, it works well for spouse on the same phone so it must be something about me.
(I have to wonder if K10 is recalling all the problems I had opening my cellphone at BAR - LOL!)
Anyway, yesterday I went to get fingerprinted at the Sheriff's office. They tried to read my prints about 35 times. In order to get the computer to read them it had to be able to discern at least 50 different "somethings". I typically would register under 30 "somethings". They tried all kinds of things to make them more readable, all to no avail. So they ended up doing the ink and roll system.
Now I'm not a fingerprint expert but a few fingers are still looking pretty bad to me. I hope I pass my background check cuz if they reject these prints they're all I have!

DeleteSo my friend, why are you getting fingerprinted? I did it when I worked with children and got cleared b y the FBI, but can't imagine what else you'd need them for.

I got finger printed when I went to work for squirrel headquarters and again when I got my concealed carry permit to haul my personal firearm around when I couldn't carry my duty pistol. I had the same issue. Some beeswax based skin cream (I think I sent you some of that) for a couple of weeks cleared up the issue.
