Too Many Details

Good morning!  First thing I do every morning (after peeing) is to weigh myself . . . 165.8.  That isn't exactly good news but it is what it is and that's 10 pounds!  See how aptly I named this blog?  OK, time for breakfast . . .

I have exactly 44 grams of All Bran cereal (high fiber, tastes like cardboard), 112 - 120 grams of 2% milk, and a banana.  After breakfast I have my coffee and read the morning newspaper.  Tuesday is my lazy day since I do my long run the day before.  Today I decided to check emails and blogs. Usually I do this from my cell phone because sitting at the computer so early in the day tends to quash any notion I may have had concerning productivity.  So here is where the magic happens:

I say "magic" because this is where my friends appear and where I create.  Right now I am working on several blogs and run several pages on Facebook.  I also have a couple church projects going on. This photo makes my desk look messy but it typically is not.  I am a neat person in most aspects. I have 2 "planners".  One is for posts to M&S blog (mostly blank right now as I am having a block) and the other tracks my running miles and weight.  The things under the transparent desk pad are mostly poems.

Today I squandered quite a bit of time on the computer, then took a shower.  I'm not sure why I am listing my day out for you but on we go. Next thing is to comb out the Doods and then the moment I have been dreading for days . . . figure out what to wear for our photo session this afternoon.  I've gone shopping to find something and come back empty handed (this is the norm for me since it is difficult to find anything I like and then unusual to find something that actually fits correctly).

Here's my clothing rant:  Almost all pants are too short (my legs are long).  I only like shorts a certain length, not too long, not too short and it appears I am the only one in the universe who prefers this length.  For tops, I like some sort of print.  I have no idea why I don't like solids (and yet I picked a solid for the photo) but I prefer a print.  Whatever clothing I buy is usually very casual since I don't work.  And it can't be snug or even "fitted",  since I like my clothing loose (too loose I'm often told). And I have a thing about the feel of the fabric too. So it is unusual for me to find anything I like.  So instead I feed my jacket, coat, pajama and linen addictions lol!  That is a whole other topic.

For lunch:  Same sandwich as yesterday and soup.  Notice I like to eat off the crust, then eat the rest of the sandwich.  Just one of my many oddities.

My view from where I sit at the table to eat lunch.  Still trying to figure out why I am telling you all this!  See how I waste a lot of time at the computer lol!

OK, gotta get ready to get those &^$#@ pictures taken!

OK, back from the photo session.  I'm not wild about how they came out but they are probably better than I expected.  It's hard to get a good photo with 2 people and 2 dogs and have everyone looking the way they are supposed to at the same time.  I can't believe I am still detailing this day.  OK, I went to the grocery store and then came home and did a little reading.  Then I took a nap.  It's a low energy day lol!  Afternoon snack:

For supper I went outside and got some fresh tomatoes and cukes.  I have been watching my one tomato, it is HUGE and starting to turn orange.  I can't wait!  The eggplant is looking good too.  I had another veggie burger for supper.  In case you are wondering they are different flavors.  This one was Pizza and Basil.  It is quite tasty.

As I was eating supper I noticed some rain is rolling in across the valley.

My response to yesterday's comments:  Lin, I am glad you are getting something out of this.  Knowing that actually helps me, thank you!  YAM, do you want the recipe?  They freeze well.  Bob makes a HUGE batch and then we freeze them and they are only a minute in the microwave from being a tasty treat!  Diana, you are just too cute.  You know I adore you, right?  Julie, we are in a semi-arid location (very low humidity, we call 30% high) and those technical fabrics actually do a good job of wicking away the sweat.  If you could see me in person you would see that I am coated in salt (I'm a salty sweater).  I didn't always look so alive after a long run.  Years ago I would come into the house and collapse on the floor before I could even think of heading to the shower.  The human body is amazing in its ability to adapt to the stress of physical exertion when done on a regular, continuous schedule.  Cecilia, if I could maintain my weight I wouldn't have a problem!  I envy your ability to NOT gain!

OK, this day is moving right along.  I'll just fix up something to snack on while we watch a video tonight and then get this posted.  Did anyone read the whole thing?

The End!

Yup, every word... This is how we get to know each other when we are in entirely different locations!!! &*> Hope we get a peek at the photos...?

Yes, if you don't mind providing the recipe I'd love to try them. The only baking I tend to do for myself (and that rarely) is my famous yoghurt cake/muffins, which also freeze well - you mentioned yoghurt for these.

    Eyes-on...YAM xx

  4. Read it all I did! I have the opposite problem - pants are too long, sleeves are too long - ahh. I admire you ladies - I have been in a serious funk for the last few months and gotta figure a way to pull out of it. Having apple slices today for my afternoon snack instead of cookies - good start!

  5. I always buy pants in long and not regular. I wish they had the same for shirts, as I have longer than average arms so often a sweater will be too short in the arms! I am not so organized with my blogging. I have tried the schedule thing, but end up not following it. I do miss things sometimes and feel a bit bad, but one can only do what they can do. I have a laptop, and these days most of my writing happens on my favourite chair that is in the kitchen/dining room.

  6. I lost 50 pounds 3 years ago. I was surprisingly active for carrying the excess weight, gained after menopause came early, but when I had a bad fall and ripped my meniscus out, even after surgery I was in constant pain. I kept a food diary (the photo diary is a great idea) and walked a lot more. Unfortunately, after losing my brother and Barkley at the same time followed by Dad's serious health problems (and dealing with that from 1000 miles away as he won't live with us), I gained 20 back. My husband is great, he says skinny girls are "like hugging a bag of antlers" but he knows I FELT so much better with the weight off. So thank you for the motivation. and the inspiration.
