Our long run day started at 4:00 a.m. At least it wasn't too hot! And I start my morning off like every morning, with a bowl of high fiber cereal (all the running experts say to avoid high fiber before a long run but it works for me).
And the usual root beer barrel and gummies to keep the carbs up. This is standard stuff. We used to buy the commercial energy gels for the mid run boost but found that it was cheaper and more tasty to just package our own gummies.
And 13 miles later I've earned my peach scones and coffee!
Dang, I just realized I forgot to take a photo of lunch. Rats! I was on a roll too! What's up with my memory lately? OK, I'm gonna cheat and find an old one . . .
OK, now I see I copied one where I had pb&j instead of cheese. For the record today was cheese.
This photo is actually larger than the serving of chips was. |
I think I need to tweak my plan. That long run just makes me so hungry. That's a wrap!
Did you say 4am????? Wow, does that time of the morning really exist? The only occasions I've seen that is after a heavy night out and I'm staggering home, no running involved!

ReplyDeleteOn the contrary Julie, 4am is Brahma-muhurtu... God's hour!!! Between 4 and 5am is the best meditation time. Running is meditation. Of sorts...
Drooled over the wallymelon [note to self - add it to shopping list]..
Eyes-on...YAM xx
I'm hungry and I didn't even run!! LOL
ReplyDeleteBravo another successful day of 10 again
