Friday

I didn't start the day with lunch.  No, I didn't even start the day with my usual Friday run with the boys.  I started out the day with some gastrointestinal issues.  And a person just cannot "safely" run with GI issues.  So I didn't.  Instead, I had my normal breakfast (forgot to take a photo) and went back to bed (it was too early to be up without a good reason and I didn't have a good reason).

Awhile later I got up and showered, still feeling "iffy" but nothing physically happening to support that "not quite 100 percent" feeling.  Hubby and I went over to the dog park (no boys, this was work only) and put down some weed barrier in anticipation of a stone delivery later this afternoon.

Tonight we have to move the stone around and tomorrow is the official "work party" where we'll complete the work and install our new benches (3 of them, assemble & put in concrete).  I really hate the fact I missed my run because I don't think I'm going to be able to fit it in any other time.

I was able to review my lab results online this afternoon.  My cholesterol and triglycerides are up.  Last time the doctor said it was not an issue since my GOOD cholesterol was so high but to have the total go up concerns me.  I have an appointment coming up and will discuss it with her.  I really don't know if I have any options since I'm unable to take medicine for it (due to side effects).

That's a wrap.

working on dog parks is equal to a run I say.... so you didn't miss in my book! Sorry you had some tummy trubs though.

Raised cholesterol is a normal thing as we age. There are sensible things in the diet we can do to minimise this (it has been a subject long enough out there for most to have some idea of it) and of course, exercise helps. Given your lifestyle, unless we are talking rampant rises, the doc is still not likely to get overly concerned because it is probably still normal for the age category and, as long as everything else is in balance, ought not to be something to fret. Don't even get me started on my anti-statins rant....

One of the tacks I would offer folks as an alternative is a liver cleanse and support diet; it involves lots of green and leafy veges (particularly broccoli which is a magic food!) and lentils. It would also mean 'releasing' the peanut butter and cheddar cheese, at least for a while. ............ (just planting a seed. I am here if you need.)

    Eyes-on...YAM xx

  2. oHHHH I HATE WAKING UP FEELLING IFFY!! BEEN THERE DONE THAT AND IT MESSES UP THE ENTIRE DAY. I SUPPOSE SINCE THERE WAS NO SUPPORT TO QUALIFY AS A GI ISSUE, IT WAS YOUR BODY TELLING YOU TO REST.
I HOPE YOU ARE BETTER TODAY!

  3. I HATE working when I feel yucky. I do hope that the counts come down. I think that you got your exercise in by moving stone. Id much rather exercise than move stone lol Have a good day.
