Today is our 7 mile run day.

It's nice because I don't have to carry water with me for this run.  We have enough parks along the route that we can stop for a drink.  Just grabbed my chew, GPS & shades and I was out the door.

OK Diana, see, it isn't very big at all.  This is a normal napkin.  And Julie, I think you are on to something about the "reenactment" meal not having as many calories lol!  I wish!!

I finally remembered to take a lunch photo before I ate it.

Coffee Break (YAM, this is my first Buckwheat experience)

After the Grand Opening to the dog park I was pretty hot and hungry so we went to Kneaders.

Portobello on Ciabatta with pasta salad

That's a wrap!

  1. Ok, ok!! I'll cut you some slack. lol That dinner sure looks yummy. I will check on that buckwheat.

  2. Hari Om
Portobello is a seaside village (now Suburb) close to Edinburgh.... or perhaps not, if you are eating it? (I am guessing at ... cheese???)

I was introduced to buckwheat flour some 20 years back, when I was trying to figure out what was causing me gut issues... the obvious thought was gluten intolerance, (it proved to be yeast in the end) . I love rye breads and thought this would be similar - but it is much heavier again and the only thing I had any success with using it was in pancakes (buckwheat pancakes with plain yoghurt, blueberries and mapel syrup.....slurppies). Apart from making roti, I keep rye crispbreads and rice cakes on hand for brekkies and lunches; but every now and then, if I need a proper bread fix, I opt for buying 3 or four artisan rolls which are wholemeal and usually with something like sun-dried tomato or a special cheese included in the mix. I will always get wind after, but at least I limited myself to only two days of it!!!

In terms of the bread you are showing here I am thinking that a) it may require more chewing and b) will require more digestion and these two things add up to requiring less of it than regular bread and therefore, overall, a good option from the point of view of calories versus countdown...
    Eyes-on...YAM xx

  3. We did the scales thingy yesterday and...guess what....not good reading !!!!(unsurprisingly)
So, out with the graph and on with the diet.
See I said you were an inspiration....I'll race you, see who loses it the quickest
(and no, I'm not offering to race you, race you, I noses you'd win!!!!)

  4. Mom loves portobello sammies too she isn't really vegetarian but when she goes out most often she orders either turkey or a veggie sammie
    Hugs madi your bfff
