Time 4 A Post

I haven't posted in awhile.  I think I've been in a funk, being held prisoner by the air conditioner.  The heat has worn me down and out!  Running when the weather is hot like this is tough.  In order to not be totally miserable we have to get up early enough to finish our runs before it gets too hot (or before the sun comes over the mountain).  On Monday we had to get up at 4am.  That way we can start running by 5am.  Unfortunately, this time, I was laying in the street by 5:30am.

I scraped my elbow and palm too but otherwise am fine. This is the 3rd time I've fallen during a run. Each one is scary.  The knee pain has actually been more behind the knee so I think I bruised it.  Last time I fell, I  bruised the bone and it took months to feel better.  I hope that isn't the case this time. I took the week off but plan to run Monday again.  I will head out just a tad bit later but visibility will likely still be an issue despite wearing a headlight.

We went to a parade today.  It was a nearby town celebrating their history and grandson JC was on a float.  Anyway, there were some tractors and I thought YaYa might enjoy seeing them.  I was facing into the sun and couldn't really see what I was taking a picture of so they aren't great photos.

When I fell on Monday I found it interesting (in a sad way) that I was lying alongside the road and a car that turned into the golf course driveway (I was almost in the driveway) didn't inquire as to whether I needed help or not.  Seriously, have we come to that?

I'm really looking forward to Oregon.  We leave a week from Tuesday.

Next weekend we are meeting a nephew for lunch.  He lives in Las Vegas and I haven't seen him in several decades (he was incarcerated for some time).

I'm making absolutely no headway on the weight loss front.  It is a total reflection of the effort I am putting into it.  Being sedentary isn't helping.

And lastly, I am going to grow my hair out a bit.  After a ton of consideration (and a Facebook vote) I think I am going with this style.  I only hope it looks good with my fine, limp hair.

OK, so that's my update.

  1. Ugh! That knee looks sore! Are you taking a page out of the queen of the sprain's book? I hope your knee feels better soon. The heat does make it hard to get out. We had another hot week here too, but I was far less of a sloth than the week before when it was cooler! The great thing about growing hair out is if you don't like it, you can cut it again:)
